A leading Democratic senator who was tear-gassed in Ferguson called Governor Jay Nixon's state of emergency declaration 'ill-advised.'
Wrap: Senator Jamilah Nasheed of St. Louis City wasn't pleased with Governor Jay Nixon's state of emergency declaration issued Monday afternoon.
|Description: "I think that the state of emergency was ill-advised. At a time when we have the highest level of anxiety in the city of St. Louis, the last thing we needed to hear was a state of emergency."
Nixon's declaration comes in anticipation of the grand jury deciding whether or not to indict Ferguson police offier Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown.
