If you are a football player at MU charged with DWI, you sit out two games, but if you are the coach, you only sit out one. And in addition, MU Director of Athletics Mike Alden says it's not important for Coach Gary Pinkel to answer questions.

Wrap:"Coach Pinkel has been suspended immediately one week from our program without pay and that began today immediately after he met with our football team."

That was Athletic Director Mike Alden with one of the many consequences that Mizzou football coach Gary Pinkel will have to deal with.

Other punishments include a one year freeze of his salary, 50 hours of community service and financial penalties.

Those penalties equate to more than 300 thousand dollars.

The consequences come after the Boone County Sheriff's Department arressted Pinkel for DWI, Wednesday night.

Alden said he heard directly from Pinkel at 6:45 Thursday morning about the incident.

Wrap: Mizzou football coach Gary Pinkel is suspended for one week.

He will have no contact with the team until Thanksgiving day.

In addition to that suspension, Pinkel will donate one week's worth of his salary to M-U Wellness Center.

That donation --- more than 40 thousand dollars.

The consequences come after the Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested Pinkel for DWI, Wednesday night.

And athletic director Mike Alden says it better not happen again.

"If in fact anything like this would ever happen again in the future, further disciplinary action would be necessary-up to and including termination."
