Description: It's just another tool in the tool box. Uh, I think most schools use it as an alternative. You know, they may say ok, you've got a 3 day suspension or a day suspension. Uh, you have the choice, if you'd rather take the spanking and not miss two days, or three days, whatever it is.

According to the bill, the school boards will individually determine what student behavior would warrant a spanking.

Wrap: The Missouri House approved a bill allowing school personnel to spank their students in an overwhelming majority vote Wednesday.

The bill is an attempt to improve working conditions for school teachers.

The bill sponsor, Republican Representative Maynard Wallace says this bill would not create a problem of unnecessary spankings in schools.

Description: They've always been able to spank. We just spank because it gave them a little structure, a little guidelines that they must stay within. It's not going to cause more spankings, certainly not. It's just simply saying, uh, if you're going to do it, here are a couple of things you have to follow.

Individual school boards would determine what behavior would warrant spanking as a disciplinary action.
