Rainy Day Fund On Hold Until Monday

Missouri's House has passed all of the state operating budget--except for the most controversial part.

Missouri's House was ready for a late night of debate on using the Rainy Day Fund to cover shortfalls in the rest of the budget.

The plan to use the fund is under fire because many say the state's reserves should be off limits.

But despite finishing the rest of the operating budget, the House is holding debate on the Rainy Day Fund proposal until Monday.

House Budget Chairman Tim Green of St. Louis County says other bills face a Friday afternoon deadline...and lawmakers need a rest from the budget:
