Senators Slip Away

With only 10 days remaining in the legislative session, the Senate adjourned two hours early for its annual barbecue.

Bills yet to be debated and and an unbalanced budget didn't stop the Senate from taking the afternoon off.

Senator Betty Sims invited the lawmakers and their staff to her farm for the annual barbecue.

Republican Senator Marvin Singleton, who didn't attend the event, says it won't affect the Senate's productivity.

An afternoon retreat pulled many senators away from the capital to attend an annual barbecue.
