Private security plan doesn't pass House budget committee

Proposed changes to security at the state Capitol aren't making their way into the budget.

Congress passed legislation in November that requires airports to use federal security staff instead of private screeners.

Governor Holden wants the opposite to happen at the state capitol.

That's because park rangers and water patrol officers have been watching capitol entrances since September 11th.

But with summer on the way, those officers will need to head back to the great outdoors--and the governor says he wants private security to take their place.
