Senate Not in Agreement With School Funding Bill

April 8, 2002

Funding education through the Foundation Formula is one of the biggest issues the Senate is dealing with now.

The House passed legislation that would provide $175 million for schools with $138 million coming from House bill 1877.

This bill would enhance revenues by generating money from river boats and closing tax loopholes. According to Sen. Wayne Goode, the bill isn't getting a lot of support in the Senate, and they would have to make some changes if they don't pass the bill.
