Cardinal Ballpark faces mixed feelings from Legislators

Several state legislators are going to bat for the Cardinal's proposed baseball village.

A new stadium for the Cardinals would have a major economic impact on Missouri.

Legislators from around the state are debating whether that impact would be positive or negative.

Opponents say transportation and education needs are more important right now, but Senator Anita Yeckel disagrees.

The proposed two hundred and ten million dollar ballpark is faced with opposition from several law-makers who are not from St. Louis.

They believe there are issues more deserving of the money than a new ballpark, such as education and transportation.

Rural Missouri representative Larry Crawford says the state has needs that are greater than the Cardinal's.
