Senator Pushes for Increase in Amount of Time Alcohol Can be Sold at Resorts

Senators are debating over the benefits of increasing the amount of time alcohol can be sold at resorts in several Lake of the Ozark counties.

A major worry among senators is that there will be an increase in drunk driving.

Sponsor of the bill, Sentor Mathewson, debated with Senator Caskey, saying that there is not a risk of an increase in the number of drunk drivers.

Contents: They have to be guests of the establishment, so we're not turning them loose unless they get loose because they are guests of that establishment. (You mean they're going to stay there all night?) Well, I would hope so; they would have a key to a room there or they wouldn't get to stay in the bar.

The bill is currently on the informal calendar with amendments pending.
