Auditor criticizes Transportation Department training practices

The state auditor says some state employees were paid for six hours of work when they only worked for a half-hour at a Missouri Department of Transportation skills competition.

The competitions... known as roadeos...allowed workers to earn prizes that cost the state at least $870,000 over the last two years.
