Education has been the centerpiece of Governor Holden's administration since before he took office. And, the people of Missouri also name education as a top priority.

But, how to support education is an issue few lawmakers seem to agree on.

The Senate perfected a bill granting schools money for renovation and construction, but not without the argument that that money would be better spent on teacher salaries.

Senator Marvin Singleton from southwest Missouri said getting children out of trailers and into classrooms is a priority...even as some districts struggle to keep teacher salaries competitive.
