Missouri PTA and School Board Association aim to make it easier for local school districts to win approval of bond issues.

The state board of education is backing a petition started by the PTA and School Board Associations to bring the vote to approve bond issues from a two-thirds approval to just a majority approval.

With fifty plus one percent of the votes, James Morris, Public Information Director of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education says, more school districts would be able to get bond issues passed.

The petition is also an active sign of involvement by parents and educators alike who want to see renovations in school buildings, a responsibility taken that Morris says is very important.
