The Department of Health will receive money to help with bioterrorism

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will receive $163,000 to deal with the threat of bioterrorism.

The Department of Health has had an increased capacity of work since anthrax has been discovered in the United States.

Positions will be added to their staff to help with the influx.

This money comes from withholdings from the budget that is getting reinstated.

Department spokeswoman, Nanci Gonder, says the new positions will help detect and combat bioterrorism.

Contents: The new positions will investigate and analyze disease reports. They will also be working with health professionals in bioterrorism.

Gonder says that Department of Health is well positioned to detect anthrax and protect others from it.
