Republicans charge that Democrats are not serious about prescription drugs.

Republicans say they hope Carnahan's hearing on prescription drugs is more than just a political move.

Hours after Senator Carnahan held a special hearing in the state capitol about rising prescription drug costs, the spokesman for the Missouri Republican Party said that Democrats weren't really serious about the issue.

Scott Baker says he hopes that this wasn't a political move on behalf of the junior Senator.
