Republicans will hold majority when senate convines.

Republicans gain Missouri senate majority as three state senators resign Tuesday. Ben Davis has the story from Jefferson City.

Democrats Joe Maxwell and William Clay along with Republican Sam Graves are not leaving public office, just moving up.

By Missouri State law ten weeks is reqiured between resignation and special election to fill the vacant seats.

At this time the special election is scheduled for Tuesday January 23.

Lieutenant governor elect Joe Maxwell is hoping for a smooth transition.
