Senate strips $157 million from Office of Administration

An irate lawmaker has convinced the Missouri Senate to strip one hundred fifty-seven million dollars from the Office of Administration budget.

Mexico Senator Joe Maxwell says he pulled the funds to force the agency to disclose provider bids forn state consolidated health care.

Contents: MAXWELL SAYS THE AGENCY OWES IT TO HIS STATE EMPLOYEES TO GIVE HIM INFO AND THAT HE GOT TALKED OUT OF IT LAST YEAR AND HIS PEOPLE GOT SCREWED.

Maxwell says open records would allow the legislature to make sure his state employees stop overpaying for their health care.

The Senate passed Maxwell's budget cut that now awaits final House approval.
