The House of Representatives struck down a measure lowering the drunk driving limit

The House of Representatives defeated a measure lowering the drunk driving limit on Wednesday. Adrienne Huth has more.

The measure would change the limit from .10 to .08. The sponsor of the legislation, Representative Mike Schilling says lowering the limit would help curb the problem.

"A lot of people in the Chamber feel .08 is a too extreme measure. It would hurt social drinking. I don't agree with that."

Opponents of the bill say lowering the limit would not have an impact on offenders. Reporting from the Capitol, I'm Adrienne Huth.
