All statewide universities including the University of Missouri and community colleges may soon be getting more money for construction projects if Representative Richard Franklin has his way. Adrienne Huth reports from the capital.
Representative Franklin is counting on the $1 admission fee for riverboats to pay for planning, grants, equipment and other construction projects.
"Basically it funds construction of buildings, libraries and so on for higher education, I think about $125 million."
The money to fund these capital improvements is pending upon the outcome of the riverboat gambling case, involving the state auditor, Margaret Kelley. The bill still awaits final votes in the House. Reporting from the capital, I'm Adrienne Huth.
