Governor Carnahan's State of the State Address boasted about Missouri's strong economy. But Republicans claim Carnahan is stealing their thunder, and some Democrats are hedging their support. Karen Fogg has the story from the State Capitol.
Republican floor leader Mark Richardson says Carnahan is simply mimicking the things Republicans have been saying for years, and trying to take credit for it. Richardson said he couldn't think of any specific objections to Carnahan's proposals. On the other hand Democrat Senate president pro tem Jim Matthewson says he has some serious concerns about a permanent sales tax cut:Matthewson says he doesn't know if the money set aside in the rainy day fund will be enough to cover the cuts that may be coming from Washington. From the State Capitol, I'm Karen Fogg.
