Tax Break for the Poor?

The House of Representatives voted to give low income Missourians a tax break, but the measure stands little chance of becoming law. Jack Dolan has the story from Jefferson City.

Republican Joe Murphy from St. Louis county offered an amendment that would mean anyone who earns sixteen thuosand dollars a year or less pays no state income tax. Murphy says the government shouldn't make business help the working poor by raising the minimum wage if the government won't help them with a tax break.
